About GITANJALI Housing Scheme

GITANJALI Housing Scheme (গীতাঞ্জলি আবাসন প্রকল্প) provides completely free housing units to the urban poor living in KMC (Kolkata Municipal Corporation) and other municipal areas of West Bengal. Named after Rabindranath Tagore’s Nobel-winning work, the scheme targets the most economically deprived urban families — those living in slums, on footpaths, or in unsafe structures — and provides them with permanent, legal pucca housing at zero cost.
