What Is Pension as per ROPA?

Under the Revision of Pay and Allowance (ROPA) rules, a retiring West Bengal government employee's pension is based on a percentage of their last drawn Basic Pay, subject to having completed the qualifying service required for full pension.

The scheme also guarantees a minimum pension floor and caps the maximum payable pension, while family pension (payable to dependents after the pensioner's death) is calculated as a separate percentage of the same last Basic Pay.
