About Utkarsh Bangla
Utkarsh Bangla (উৎকর্ষ বাংলা — ‘Excellence of Bengal’) is the West Bengal government’s flagship free skill development and vocational training scheme for unemployed youth. Launched vide Memo No. 211-TET(Estt.)/2E-07/2016, the scheme provides free, certified skill training in over 100 trades — from electrical, plumbing, and construction to tailoring, IT, hospitality, and beauty. Training is conducted through government ITIs and empanelled private training centres, and includes job placement support.

NCVT or WBSCVT certified certificates — recognised nationally
Job placement support through training centre partnerships
Training duration: 3 months to 1 year depending on trade
Stipend support for trainees in some courses
Available to youth across all districts of West Bengal
⚠️ Admission: Training courses are offered in batches with fixed seats. Apply early at your nearest government ITI or Utkarsh Bangla-empanelled training centre. Centres can be found at the WB TVET portal.
