About Lokprasar Prakalpa
Lokprasar Prakalpa (লোকপ্রসার প্রকল্প) is a unique West Bengal government initiative dedicated to the welfare and preservation of traditional folk arts and artists. The scheme provides monthly financial honorarium, performance opportunities, and welfare support to registered folk artists — including Baul singers, Jatra performers, Bishnupur classical musicians, Chhau dancers, Gambhira performers, and other traditional art forms. It ensures that the rich cultural heritage of Bengal is preserved and its artists can sustain their livelihoods.

⚠️ Registration: Folk artists must register through the District Information & Cultural Affairs Office or through Duare Sarkar camps. Artists must demonstrate their art form during registration.
