MEMORANDUM
The State Government vide FD Memo No. 3876-F(Y) dated 14.06.2018 and 4949-F(Y) dated 03.08.2018 has enabled all offices under the administrative control of Government of West Bengal to make procurement from through Government e-Marketplace (GeM). Further, detailed training on procurement through GeM has already been imparted to the Nodal Officers and Master Trainers of the Departments and the Districts.
2. As per para 3 of FD Memo No. 5430-F(Y) dated 23.08.2018, it has been made mandatory for all offices under the administrative control of Government of West Bengal to make procurement of certain articles like vehicles, computers & peripherals, printers, scanners, photocopier machines, etc. only through GeM.
3. Now, in order to ensure that the State Government gets advantage of the comparatively lower cost of such articles on GeM like vehicles, computers & peripherals, printers, scanners, photocopier machines, etc., it is further clarified that in cancellation of any ongoing tenders/quotations already invited for procurement of such articles through modes other than GeM such procurement shall be made only through GeM to ensure fiscal prudence. However, Work Orders already issued may not be revisited.
