National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Exam (Class VIII), 2013
National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship for Class VIII
(A Centrally Sponsored Scheme)
National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Examination, 2013 (for Class VIII) will be held on 17th Nov, 2013 (Sunday). There will be examination centres in every district. Students who are studying in any Govt./Govt. Aided/Govt. Sponsored/Army School and have secured 55% marks or equivalent grade in the Annual Examination of Class VII and whose parental income for the last financial year (i.e 1st April 2012 to 31st March 2013) is below Rs. 1,50,000/- are eligible to appear in the above noted examination. Income Certificate issued by any Govt. Official not below the rank of Joint B.D.O. is to be submitted. S.C./S.T and Physically Disabled candidates securing 50% marks in the annual Exam. of Class VII are also eligible to apply.
Application Forms will be distributed from the Office of the respective District Inspector of Schools (SE) on and from 12th August 2013 free of cost and can also be downloaded from www.wbsed.gov.in. The filled-in forms will have to be submitted to the office of the District Inspector of Schools (SE) on or before 06 September, 2013.
Selected candidates will be eligible to receive scholarship @ Rs. 500/- p.m. from the Govt. of India for 4 years provided he/she continues his/her study and does not fail in any class.
