Sub: Enhancement of rate of scholarship under “Shikshashree” scheme for Scheduled Caste students studying in class V to VII.
Sir,
I am directed to inform you that the scholarship scheme Shikshashree for SC students of class V to class VIII was introduced in the financial year 2014-15 with the approval of cabinet vide U.O No. 1747 dated 13.06.2014. Now, rate of scholarship has been enhanced only for the SC students as per approval of Cabinet vide U.O No. 187 dated 22.11.2016 as per following table.
Class | Existing Rate | New Rate
Class V | Rs. 500/- per annum | Rs. 750/- per annum
Class VI | Rs. 650/- per annum | Rs. 750/- per annum
Class VII | Rs. 700/- per annum | Rs. 750/- per annum
Class VIII | Rs. 800/- per annum | Rs. 800/- per annum
The scholarship at enhanced rate should be disbursed to the Scheduled Caste students from the current financial year 2016-17. All initiatives should be taken to ensure that all eligible students come under the purview of this scheme and no eligible students are left out.
I am further directed to request you to communicate this to all the districts and to kindly send the revised requirement of fund, if any on this count so that action may be taken from this end.
