Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of Higher Education, Government of India, has declared 11th November, the Birth Anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, great freedom fighter and eminent educationist, as the National day.
In this regard he/ she is requested to advise the schools authorities under his/ her jurisdiction to organize The National Education Day, 2011 on 11th November, 2011 to celebrate the birth day of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad in a befitting manner. The said day should be observed at school level through programmes to be carried out during the school hours and the activities proposed for celebrating the same are as follows:
For Primary Level
Sit and Draw (on environment)
Quiz competition
Plantation and Gardening
Cleaning of the school campus etc.
For Upper Primary Level
Debate competition
Essay competition (Importance of National Education Day)
For Secondary and Higher Secondary Level
Debate competition on Child Rights
Slogan writing on Child Rights
Apart from the above activities, all educational institutions should be involved in organizing seminars, symposia, rallies with banners, cards and slogans on the importance of education and the nation’s commitment to all aspects of education.
Teachers, guardians, members of Village Education (Committee/ Ward Education Committee/ Mother Teachers’ Association and Managing Committee members may be requested to be involved in participating in the programmes. The activities should be so designed as to focus on 10 critical provisions of RTE Act 2009 and dissemination of knowledge about issue pertaining to zero detention prohibition of corporal punishment and private tuition etc.
