Taruner Swapna — meaning ‘Dreams of Youth’ — is a visionary scheme by the West Bengal government to provide free tablets and laptops to students passing Class 12. In an increasingly digital world, this initiative ensures that students from all economic backgrounds have access to modern technology for their academic and professional journey.

Free tablets/laptops to students passing HS (Class 12) examinations. Bridges digital divide between urban and rural students. Enables online learning and skill development. Helps students in higher education and competitive exam preparation.

Students who have passed Class 12 (HS) from West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education. Must be a resident of West Bengal. Priority to students from economically weaker sections.

Distribution done through schools and colleges after Class 12 results. No separate application required — eligible students are identified automatically. Documents: Admit card, marksheet, Aadhaar, and bank account.
