Samajik Suraksha Yojana
Samajik Suraksha Yojana is a social security scheme specifically designed for workers in the unorganized sector — construction workers, domestic workers, street vendors, and others who lack formal employment benefits. This scheme provides a safety net for these workers, ensuring they receive support during illness, old age, and other hardships.
Accidental death and disability insurance coverage. Financial assistance during hospitalization. Old age pension for registered workers. Educational scholarship for children of registered workers. Maternity benefit for female workers.
Workers in the unorganized sector aged 18–60 years. Not covered under any other social security scheme. Annual income below prescribed limit. Must be a resident of West Bengal. Regular renewal of registration required.
Register at local Block Development Office or Urban Local Body. Submit work proof, Aadhaar card, bank account, and photographs. Nominal registration fee may apply. Annual renewal required to maintain benefits.
Samajik Suraksha Yojana fills a critical gap in India’s social security landscape by protecting those who fall outside the organized sector’s safety net. It is a commitment that no worker in West Bengal will face hardship alone.
