Krishak Bandhu: A Lifeline for West Bengal’s Farming Community

Krishak Bandhu is a comprehensive welfare scheme for farmers in West Bengal, providing both financial assistance and life insurance coverage. Launched in 2019, this scheme acknowledges the hard work and sacrifices of the farming community and provides them year-round financial support regardless of crop yield.

Annual financial aid of ₹10000 per acre (minimum ₹4000 for small farmers). Life insurance coverage of ₹2 lakh for farmers aged 18–60. Two installments per year aligned with farming seasons. Death benefit for farmer families.

All registered farmers of West Bengal. Must own or cultivate land in West Bengal. Age 18–60 for insurance component. Registered with Agriculture Department.

Register at local Block Agriculture Office or Krishak Bandhu portal. Submit land records (RoR), Aadhaar card, and bank account details. Verification done by agriculture officials.
