About Jai Bangla Scheme

Jai Bangla Scheme (জয় বাংলা প্রকল্প) is a landmark umbrella pension scheme launched by the West Bengal government on April 1, 2020. It consolidates all existing pension schemes of the state — including Old Age Pension, Widow Pension, Disability Pension, Farmer Pension, Fishermen Pension, and Artisan Pension — under a single unified portal (jaibangla.wb.gov.in). Two new sub-schemes were also introduced: Taposili Bandhu for Scheduled Caste (SC) and Jai Johar for Scheduled Tribe (ST) communities. The scheme is administered by the Department of Finance, Government of West Bengal and benefits over 21 lakh people across the state.

ℹ️ Uniform pension amount: All sub-schemes under Jai Bangla provide ₹1,000 per month directly to the beneficiary’s bank account via DBT.
Eligibility Criteria
  • Permanent resident of West Bengal with valid domicile/residence proof
  • Age 60 years or above for old age pension categories
  • Must belong to a household classified as Below Poverty Line (BPL)
  • SC/ST certificate required for Taposili Bandhu and Jai Johar sub-schemes
  • Widows must provide death certificate of deceased husband and no-marriage certificate
  • Disability certificate required for Manabik (disability) pension
  • Must have a personal bank account for DBT — joint accounts not accepted
❌ Not Eligible If:
  • Already receiving benefits from any other government pension scheme
  • Below 60 years of age (for old age pension categories)
  • Not a permanent resident of West Bengal
  • Not classified as BPL household

How to Apply – Jai Bangla Pension Scheme 2026

Applications are accepted offline through government offices. Download the form from the official portal or collect it in person.

Visit jaibangla.wb.gov.in and download the Jai Bangla Pension Scheme Application Form PDF — or collect from your local government office

Fill the form carefully in block letters — select the correct sub-scheme (e.g. Taposili Bandhu, Jai Johar, Widow Pension, etc.)

Fill in personal details, income information, contact details and bank account number

Attach self-attested photocopies of all required documents

Submit the completed form to: Block Development Officer (BDO) if residing in rural areas, or Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) if in municipal areas

After verification and approval, pension of ₹1,000/month will be directly credited to your bank account
