NOTIFICATION

In exercise of the power conferred under section 5 of the West Bengal Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Identification) Act, 1994 (West Ben. Act XXXVIII of 1994), (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), as subsequently amended vide Notification no. 90-L, dt. 14.01.2013 (West Ben. Act XXXV of 2012), the Governor is pleased to notify that the Caste Certificates, under Section 3 or Section 4 of the said Act, in respect of Kolkata, as defined in the clause (9) of section (2) of the Kolkata Municipal Corporation Act, 1980, may be issued by the District Welfare Officer, Kolkata and ex-officio Joint Director, Backward Classes Welfare.
