Shishu Sathi Scheme for Children
SHISHU SATHI
Name of the Department: Health and Family Welfare Department.
Purpose of the Scheme: Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee flagged off a scheme named Shishu Sathi, on 21.08.2013 to provide free treatment to children who need heart surgeries, irrespective of how rich or poor the parents are.
Who can apply: All Children of 0 to 18 years age suffering from heart disease. There is no income criteria to avail the benefit.
The list of hospitals under the Scheme: The following hospitals are included in Sishu Sathi scheme:
- a) IPGMER, Kolkata
- b) RN Tagore, International Institute of Cardiac Sciences, Kolkata
- c) BM Birla Hospital, Kolkata
- d) Mission Hosiptal, Durgapur
Contact: CMOH of the district/ BMOH in the block level/ DFWO in Kolkata.
