Nijo Griha Nijo Bhumi — meaning ‘Own Home, Own Land’ — is a landmark scheme that provides both land and housing to landless and homeless families in rural West Bengal. Free land pattas (land titles) to landless families. Financial assistance for construction of pucca houses. Comprehensive support from land allocation to construction. Integration with other housing schemes for maximum benefit. Legal ownership documents provided.
Landless and homeless families in rural West Bengal. Must not own any agricultural or homestead land. Priority to SC/ST and extremely poor families. Must be a resident of the Gram Panchayat area. BPL card or equivalent poverty proof required.
Apply through local Gram Panchayat or Block Development Office. Gram Sabha conducts verification and prepares list of beneficiaries. Land identified and allotted by Revenue Department. Construction assistance provided through convergence with housing schemes.
