Khadya Sathi
Khadya Sathi is a comprehensive food security scheme by the West Bengal government that provides subsidized and free food grains to economically weaker sections of society. This scheme supplements the central government’s food programs and ensures that every family in West Bengal has access to adequate nutrition regardless of economic status.
Subsidized rice at ₹2 per kg for eligible families. Free food grains for extremely poor families. Coverage extended to a large portion of West Bengal’s population. Distribution through Fair Price Shops (ration shops). Regular and transparent delivery system.
Families with ration cards (AAY, PHH categories). Priority to BPL (Below Poverty Line) families. Coverage extended to all economically vulnerable residents. Must be registered with the Food Department.
Register with local ration dealer or Food Department office. Submit Aadhaar card, bank account details, and family details. Ration card issued after verification. Collect food grains monthly from Fair Price Shop.
